I don’t think I have been without the internet for so long in quite some time. I am addicted and rely on it for planning information. The park last night advertised WIFI but their satellite connection was down. I even asked if there were any hotspots in town but no luck. There has also been no Bell cell coverage at all since Dawson Creek so we couldn’t use our stick. It feels good to be connected again.
A bit of a longer drive today at 420 km but the views were amazing and the skies were sunny and clear for most of the day.
We were back in the mountains but we did not have to climb any high passes. We just seemed to follow the valleys between them.
We decided to have lunch “out” today at a restaurant in the town of Teslin. First we crossed this long bridge over Teslin Lake, with the metal grate decking. You could hear the trucks and us crossing from a very long distance.
A bit later at a pullout we got some great views of the now somewhat angrier sky and the mountains reflected in the very calm lake.
There was hardly any wild life today. All we saw was one more small bear and this very fit creature out in the middle of nowhere.
The rain that did eventually come today was very behaved. It was mostly visible off in the distance.
We got a bit of moisture as we drove into Whitehorse that stopped as we had to setup in our campground. It stayed away while we went to the visitors center and did a bit of shopping. Now that we are back in the RV for the night it has started again. The forecast for the next few days doesn’t look too bad. We will be here at least 3 or 4 days.
We went to the Walmart for supplies and I have never seen so many RVs. Some of them looked like the owners lived there. It’s people like that, that cause some of the stores to ban the RVs. I didn’t have our camera but I am going to back for a picture.
