May 19 – Eastatoe Falls

I assume by now that everyone is sick of waterfall pictures. Sorry but I am not. Each one is so different that I can stare at them for a long time.

The forecast called for thunderstorms this afternoon so we just took in one more easy waterfall in the morning and then did a much needed laundry at the campground afterwards.

Eastatoe Falls are only about 20 minutes away from the campground. They are on the private property of the Mountain Meadow Guest Cottage.

They allow people to come onto their property to see the falls. They even have signs telling you where to park.

The falls are just up a short trail at the end of the lawn.

Jennie took her time, always investigating beside the trail.

Some more weird plants.

It almost looked like the growth on the leaves didn’t belong to the plant itself.

There was a sign to point out the falls.

To be fair the sign really pointed to a trail that led higher up the falls.

I took the tripod today so you are about to be inundated with many different pictures of the falls.

First from the lower viewpoint.

The pictures I had seen online had only shown water running down the right side but with the heavy rain we got yesterday it is overflowing.

I think slow works best here.

As this was our only destination for the day we took our time before heading back to the car.

As of 4 o’clock, there have been lots of dark clouds but no rain or thunder.
