We went to check out the current crop of boats hiding out in the islands.
We paused to listen to a nearby loon.
Wednesday was a strange day. At about 5 in the morning it started pouring rain with lots of of lightning and thunder. It continued coming down very hard until just before lunch time. I haven’t often seen such a hard rain last so long. We heard later that part of the highway had flooded.
After lunch it turned into a beautiful sunny day so of course we headed out in the boat again. This time we went to an island that has tall vertical cliffs that give you a great view of the area. It was just me and the girls. I couldn’t convince anyone else to go for a climb.
This is the view of the cliffs as we left.
We park the boat in a small cove that always seems to be out of the wind and waves.
Then we scrambled our way up through the bush and the rocks. Most of the pictures are from going back to the boat. I hadn’t been here in several years and on the way up I was just trying to figure out the best way to go.
It was pretty windy up at the top.
We stared off into the distance for a while.
My daughter has the same problem with heights as Jennie. She didn’t appreciate me standing too close to the edge. At least the wind was blowing us back, away from falling off..
The short ride back was quite a bit rougher.
