Today we headed downtown to check out part of the three day Bend Street Festival. It was really just like a normal Saturday street market but on a much bigger scale. There were no farmers booths but lots of artists selling their wares. One nice thing was that they put all the commercial business type booths (insurance, etc) in one area, for us to ignore. There were also several large stages with continuous entertainment.
I just post a few things from some of the booths I found interesting.
Lots of beautiful stones made into pendants.
Mixer blades as earrings.
For my knitting cousins.
A booth full of Lego minifigs.
Look at some of those prices though. $32 for Deadpool.
Lots of metal art.
I am a sucker for the multicoloured metal landscapes.
This one was popular. I saw two go while we watched a band. I didn’t see a price but it was about 2 feet across so not cheap.
This one was at the same booth, $395. Not sure why someone would ever buy the Bigfoot in the upper corner, only $20 though.
These pillars were pretty but what would you do with them? Also, they were $475 each.
We sat and listened to the BUG, Bend Ukulele Group, for a while. It is a bunch of old timers that gather once a week at a pizza joint to jam.
This guy was taking it real easy.
The old theater has a free showing of Star Wars Rogue One coming up.
We are really there for the food. We got a seafood platter for this Greek place.
We also had some ribs and a Gryo.
A martial arts group put on a demo.
After we had covered this event, we wandered down to the regular Saturday market, which was just a block away. I am not sure why they bothered because they were eclipsed by the other event. All the shop owners looked very bored.
On the way we saw a Segway tour go by.
It was another blazing hot day (the car said 33C). After we had eaten our fill and checked out all the booths we headed home.
